Fresh Dines Out on Dating-Life Depravity
In the new film Fresh (Hulu, March 4) we watch a woman get flung into hell and then attempt to claw her way out. We’ve seen such narratives countless times before in horror, but recently, the latent subtext has become overt text. Sociopolitical commentary is the main thrust of so much contemporary horror, to often valuable but occasionally grating effect.
