Amber Heard Seeks to Throw Out Verdict of Johnny Depp’s Defamation Case

As expected, Amber Heard’s legal team has filed a memorandum to throw out the verdict of Johnny Depp’s defamation case against her. The 44-page filing submitted on July 1 argues that there was insufficient evidence to merit the damages of over $10 million awarded, in part zeroing in on Depp’s claim that he lost a film role in Pirates of the Caribbean 6 due to an op-ed that Heard published in The Washington Post in 2018.
