Batgirl Casts Ivory Aquino As First Trans DC Character

The DC Film-Universe has officially cast its first openly transgender character. Filipino actress Ivory Aquino is set to play Alysia Yeoh in HBO Max’s upcoming film, Batgirl. Aquino stars alongside Leslie Grace — who plays Barbra Gordon, aka Batgirl — as the superheroes roommate and best friend. Grace posted a photo of the two running through the street on Instagram, which led many to inquire about Aquino’s involvement.
