Donald Trump is officially putting his finger—and really his whole hand—on the scale in North Carolina. Over the weekend, the ex-president made a deliberate move to shake up the Republican field in the race to replace retiring Senator Richard Burr. According to Politico, Trump met with Mark Walker, a former North Carolina representative, at his Mar-a-Lago resort and persuaded Walker to withdraw from the race by promising to endorse him in a bid for a House seat instead.
