MFW: Blumarine Pays Homage to Joan of Arc
Last season, Blumarine‘s creative director Nicola Brognano created a collection that was an “ode to mermaids.” Inspired by his love of the Disney film The Little Mermaid, models swaggered down the runway wearing shell-shaped bralettes and strapless denim dresses with fishtail hems. Fall/Winter 2023 — which debuted in Milan — was something of a companion piece to that show. Gone were the references to water, replaced with a fiery, barren landscape.
