Nichelle Nichols, ‘Star Trek’s’ Lt. Uhura, dead at 89

Actress Nichelle Nichols, whose trailblazing portrayal of Lt. Nyota Uhura on TV’s original “Star Trek” series broke racial barriers, has died.
