Political Super PACs Are Benefitting from the Local News Crisis

Last month, the Chicago Tribune reported that political mailings resembling legitimate regional news outlets were circulating across Illinois. Various local-sounding titles, such as Chicago City Wire, DuPage Policy Journal, and Will County Gazette, contained misinformation about the impacts of new criminal justice laws under Governor J.B. Pritzker, the Democrat who is running for reelection against conservative state Sen. Darren Bailey.
