Reese Witherspoon Will Resurrect Tracy Flick For an Election Sequel
More than 20 years after littering the high school hallways with “Pick Flick” propaganda, Reese Witherspoon is reprising her role as Type-A student body presidential hopeful Tracy Flick, according to multiple outlets. A sequel to 1999’s Election, adapted from Tom Perrotta’s June 2022 novel Tracy Flick Can’t Win, is in the works with writer-director Alexander Payne returning to the helm. Perrotta, who adapted the original film from his novel, will serve as executive producer and pen the follow-up alongside frequent Payne collaborator Jim Taylor.
