“The Disappointment I Feel Today Is Beyond Words”: Amber Heard Speaks on Johnny Depp Verdict
A jury of seven Virginians found Amber Heard liable for three counts of defamation made in her Washington Post op-ed, a piece she wrote in coordination with the ACLU to support causes such as the Violence Against Women Act. The jury found that she had defamed Depp with two statements from the body of the piece as well as the Post’s online headline, which read, ironically, depressingly, “I spoke up against sexual violence—and faced our culture’s wrath.
