On May 10, the San Francisco Opera Guild and Neiman Marcus welcomed fashion designer Wes Gordon to town for a two-part event in support of the Guild’s education programs, which benefit more than 64,000 students annually in schools across Northern California. An intimate Grand Benefactor cocktail reception at Villa Taverna—the exclusive 62-year-old private club on historic Hotaling Place in Jackson Square—also served as Gordon’s first official appearance in San Francisco as Carolina Herrera’s creative director.
